By this point, I think everyone that cares knows how KAWS brought his "Companion" designs back to vinyl life to coincide with the opening of his Where the End Starts retrospective at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, but few talk about the hours they spent on the museum's online shop trying to checkout. Cursed with a system that was over-burdened by the demand and unable to complete any transactions for over three hours, The Modern's online shop only started looking proper once they'd disabled the payment capturing system. Oh yes, you'd spent hours there, finally gotten your receipt, and money was still due! As follow-up emails from the museum explained, every attempt to purchase had been logged and people were offered their 2016 "Companion (Open Edition)" figures in the order they were logged online. Thankfully, I was there VERY early on and got exactly what I wanted — a brown regular version and matching flayed edition. And now, with these elusive pieces in hand, I'm honored to show them to you…
