No need to pinch yourself, you are not dreaming… Dark surrealist painter
Mab Graves is! Created by Graves for the
previously announced DTA Dunny Show 2 at
The Clutter Gallery, this custom sculpture is built upon — of course — a
Kidrobot Dunny and uses the artists own dreams as a point of inspiratation. From the fuzzy pink wool suit she wears, which is in a shade similar to that of Graves, to butterflies adorning her head, an insect that is commonly seen in Graves’s art, this piece is a wonderful accumulation of everything that signifies the artist. I absolutely love the skillfully added human-face on the Dunny profile, and the small hands she has poking out from her suit are perfectly creepy! This one-of-a-kind piece will be available at the exhibition opening early next year, though those interested in acquiring this work should join
The Clutter Gallery Preview List, members of which will get an early online peek at pieces and will have the first chance to buy the works in the show.
The "DTA Dunny Show 2" is a custom group exhibition that will open on January 9th with a reception from 6-9
PM local time and be on display until February 5th, 2016 at
The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main St., Beacon, NY 12508.
