Mr. Krotpong's new toy line explores the world of messed-up finger puppets, as he reveals his 2½- to 3-inch tall "Homunculords" prototypes before they undergo the soft Japanese vinyl treatment. The name of the line is obviously derived from homunculus (Latin for "little people"), a term which has often become associated with the Jewish tradition of the golem and has been explored ad infinitum in horror movies (
Subspecies anyone?). Krotpong's take feels original and a bit frightening, which is always a good thing! We're told to keep our eyes peeled for these to make their vinyl debut in either flesh or glow-in-the-dark in "a little white" ("but SOON").
