Gearing up for Thanksgiving, artist
Daniel Fleres shares the customized 8-inch tall "Hand Turkey Dunny!" Using Kronk's multi-eared "Madame Mayhem" as the base, Fleres is making five of these beauties to be released in
his web store the first week of November. But I'm sure you want to know how he created this stunning turkey meets pilgrim piece… and, thankfully, he was happy to share that! Pictured below, you can see he removed two of the seven ears from the Dunny, filling in the blank areas and smoothing to perfection, before spraying each element with primer. Once primed, he sketched out blocks on the head and sculpted on the beak and snood (yes, that's the real term for the 'red thing'). Then he painted the base pilgrim attire blocks before…
…starting in full on the head! He painted solid swaths of color where he knew they belonged, then when in and added details and fades before finished with the feathering touches. Add a simple, sculpted pilgrim hat to the head and… viola, you have a "Hand Turkey Dunny!" While you could certainly give it a go yourself, if you want to try and snag the master's original rendition then you best
follow Fleres on Twitter for the announcement of availability!
