The Loyal Subjects's Transformers "Optimus Prime" Sculpt Revealed!

I grew up watching the Transformers on television, my youthful self getting a thrill whenever Optimus Prime yelled "Autobots, Roll Out!" and they all transformed. So when The Loyal Subjects announced they were producing a Designer Toy line based on the Transformers, I was thrilled… and then we saw our first peek of them as t-shirt designs. As the prototype sculpt above reveals, I was correct in guessing that the t-shirt designs would be produced as the figures as well… and while the sculpt looks much more interesting than I thought it would, I'm still underwhelmed. This Super-D/Chibi style would've "wowwed" the wee me that watched the show, but — as an adult — it leaves me kinda cold. But I'll reserve judgement for the final product. Though Jonathan of The Loyal Subjects does tease — perhaps jokingly — that he's building a 5-foot tall version of this piece!
