Neil Young & Shepard Fairey reinterpret American folk music!
Neil Young's newest record with Crazy Horse, "Americana," is a collection of reinterpretations of classic 'American Folk Music,' including versions of classics such as "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain," "Oh Susanna," "Tom Dula" (which you might recognize as "Tom Dooley"), "This Land is Your Land" and "Get a Job." And while Young is making an audio modernization of these tracks, he's asked Shepard Fairey to make visual ones… Fairy is making a representative painting for each and every track on the new album. The paintings will be previewed during a one-day only private event on June 1st at the Perry Rubenstein Gallery's new Los Angeles location.
