Anatomy & physiology of the NoM, a new resin cryptid discovered!
The above shadowy picture was my first exposure to the NoM, a new breed of crypid creature hand-cast in resin by Rickard Johansson. Yes, it is a designer toy and not an actual beastie… at least, that's what we're told. But the obvious question should be: "What is a NoM?" According to Johansson:
The NoMs are the dark cousins of gnomes and goblins. They are everywhere, hiding in your socks drawer, bathing in the gas tank of your car, chewing away on the cables inside your game console… Simply put – they are the bad things that happen.Unless… Well, unless you take care of them of course! Feed them, love them and care for them, and they will instead be devoted to you and take care of all your problems.Actual, clear pictures of this forthcoming platform seem as elusive as pics of any cryptid… but, hidden in the dark recesses of Johansson's Twitter feed, we did uncover this rather disturbing shot:
From what we can tell, there is full articulation on the arms and they appear to be about 4" tall. It's a pure hand-cast resin beauty with a glass eye, which is always a bonus in my book. These figures will be available in a web shop soon, but Johansson is accepting pre-orders right now (though final price is TBD); contact him through his website, Twitter account, or directly at design [at] antroia [dot] com.
