Coarse - Casting Shadows release and event recap

It looks like the guys over at Coarse have just announced the release of a new vinyl figure set dubbed "casting shadows – switch to fall" which features Coarse's signature noop, flying a kite in the shape of his old friend, paw!, leaving his new companion, nism, lost in the shade. This was in line with their current solo exhibition in Taipei, and is limited to only 200 pieces worldwide. This elegant set comes in a beautiful hand crafted cardboard box, 6 tone printed and stamped with nism's eye of gold. The box is opened by pulling at the 'noop' and 'nism' fabric tags on each end of the box, to reveal the two figures... and along with the box there is a fabric kite and c-o-a-r-s-e leaves to complete the scene. These will retail HERE on Monday July 18, 2011 07:59am PST for around $320 which includes shipping!

As previously mentioned, Coarse just finished launching the opening of their most recent exhibition dubbed "shadows over paradise" which was held in Taipei, Taiwan! This exhibition opened on July 8, and it showcased classic original pieces handcrafted by the coarse artists Mark Landwehr and Seven Waschk. It featured, an impressive 1:1 jaws loser fiberglass figure and the original 2003 resin figures "flake", "fluid" and "float", the set that would become Coarse's "first release" vinyl figure series in 2004. This show will be open for public viewing until Sunday, July 17 at Paradise Toyland [17, Lane 187, Section 1, Dun Hua South Road, Taipei]... where some pieces are still available for purchase.
